Dave and Sharon Spangler are the parents of five children that have given them seven grandchildren and two great grand children.
Dave went to school at Letourneau Tec., Grace College, and Piedmont Baptist College. After a tour in the U.S. Army, he has been a Youth Pastor and then Minister of Music of two different churches. Dave has always had a love for flying and a heart for missions and in the early ‘90s FLYN4GOD was formed. Dave and Sharon started a flying ministry in the Bahamas in 1999 and joined the mission board of Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples in 2000. In January of 2004 they moved permanently to Eleuthera Bahamas. Using the airplane as a tool they have worked on nine different islands in the Bahamas.
During that time they have partnered with Bahamas Habitat for disaster relief and Operation Renewed Hope for medical clinics in Central America. When the earth quake hit Haiti in 2011, Operation Renewed Hope, with Dave’s help, put together a network of four airplanes to form Haiti Air Hope. In all Dave spent four months flying between Florida, Haiti and Dominican Republic taking supplies, medical teams and evangelistic teams to local pastors, churches and orphanages.
